Winter living

We are entering the slow time of year, with little light and as we look toward the Solstice, our turning is inward. As a family we play games by candle light, and we cook, and cook. We read bible stories and george mcdonald and fairy tales. We drink warm drinks, wear wool socks, organize and plan our gardens. double check our animals, for warmth, health and safety. It's the rest after the sowing, harvest and gathering. The watering and weeding is covered by a quilt of snow. Its the time to check the details, revel in the memories and soak in the fresh cold air as we wait until the spiral turns once more outward, the days will lengthen once again, but for now. we celebrate cozy.
